The U.S. Grains Council is a membership organization with 10 international offices and programs in over 50 countries. Our members include corn, sorghum, and barley producer organizations, grain processing and trading companies, agricultural input companies, and state-level departments of agriculture. The U.S. Gains Council is committed to global food security and mutual economic benefit through trade. The Council engages in programs to facilitate the modernization of the feed, livestock, and corn processing industries around the world and serves as a bridge between international buyers and the large and sophisticated U.S. agricultural export system. The United States is the world’s largest exporter of corn, sorghum, and distillers grains (DDGS – a corn by product from ethanol production), and a major exporter of barley.
The Beijing office of the U.S. Grains Council is the largest of the Council’s international offices and is seeking to fill an entry-level position as Secretary. The Council has engaged in multiple programs working with the feed and livestock industry in China for over 30 years, mostly sponsoring technical specialists from the U.S. to come to China for training, seminars, and onsite assistance, and also sponsoring teams travelling to the U.S. for training and information exchanges. More recently, the Council embarked on programs to help traders improve their understanding of the U.S. grain marketing system and global markets more generally, and has sponsored events to conduct policy dialogue with stakeholders in government, academia, and industry.
