The technical foundation that underpinsWisers' service was originated in 1992 as an academic research project at theprestigious Chinese University of Hong Kong. This core technology led to theincorporation of Wisers Information Limited in 1998 and the launch of the firstgeneration of WiseNews service, aggregating content from 20 sources in 1998.
In 1999, international private equity firm,Walden International Investment Group provided funding from the Hong Kong SARGovernment's Applied Research Fund for the further development of the Wisers'service. WiseNews Version 2.0 was launched in 2000. Wisers' development sincethen has been in response to its growing number of international clients,including many of the Fortune 500 firms.
Today, Wisers now offers a suite ofservices and solutions targeted at corporations in various industries. Thecurrent iteration of WiseNews Version 3.0, brings updated daily informationfrom over 3,000 sources across Greater China and Unitated States.
